    33 year old Matt Bradwell from Chesterfield is celebrating another promotion within the Harron Homes team. In the seven years since he joined Harron, Matt quickly rose to Site Manager at Highfield Manor in Fixby, and has now been appointed to Junior Contracts Manager.     We recently commissioned Men in Sheds Kirkby-in-Ashfield to construct hedgehog boxes for several of our developments in readiness for the start of the hibernation season, which coincides with Bonfire Night.   Men in Sheds is a global woodworking and crafts organisation set up to help older men find a sense of community and purpose after they enter retirement.     Harron Homes recently supported local cancer charity BB with love by attending its annual musical show held at Sheffield City Hall. Mick Croke, who has worked with Harron over 10 years with his plastering company, MJ&B Plastering Ltd, set up BB with love with his family after he lost his wife Beverley to breast cancer in March 2021.     Local MP for Sherwood, Mark Spencer and District Councillor Rhona Holloway officially opened the brand-new showhomes at Harron Homes’ newest Nottinghamshire development, Bilsthorpe Chase, on Saturday 8th October. Mark and Rhona opened the showhomes with a formal ribbon cutting and were met by Harron Homes Marketing Coordinator Robert Clubbe, and Sales Executive Hannah Jackson who gave them a tour around the site and showhomes.     Bake off for charity

    Last Friday (30th September) we once again supported Macmillan in its quest to create the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Colleagues at our Barlborough and Morley offices brought their best cakes to work and competed in a bake-off. The site team at The Grange in Shireoaks also joined in the fun, selling cake and coffees on the day.     To mark Roald Dahl Day (13th September), we arranged storytelling sessions at Kingfisher Primary School in Doncaster, close to the newest development, Riverdale Park which is launching this Autumn and at Carlton Primary School in Carlton, close to The Hawthornes.     Roald Dahl Day celebrates the author and his creative children’s books, encouraging primary school children to engage with the wonders of reading and storytelling.
