Harron Homes recently teamed up with Bank End Primary Academy in Barnsley near its Nevison’s Fold development to assist in the school’s “mappings” module, developing year two pupils’ navigation skills and helping them familiarise themselves with their local area and road safety. Dressed in hi-vis jackets donated by Harron, 26 pupils from the year two class participated in a walk to the development which not only addressed road safety but also highlighted the natural features of the area. Rotherham Council recently celebrated an important milestone towards achieving its aim to provide more affordable housing to the area. The completion of 12 homes at Harron Homes’ The Paddocks development in Wickersley marked the 500th home built and was celebrated by an event hosted at the development. Harron successfully put forward a bid to provide all 12 of the affordable homes to Rotherham Council. We have recently donated 30 pairs of high-quality wellies to the children of Staveley Primary Junior School in Staveley, Chesterfield, close to Harron Homes’ Thorpe Meadows development. Last Friday, 20th October 2023, we joined many people throughout the country on Wear it Pink day, raising money for Breast Cancer Now. Colleagues from our head offices in Barlborough and Leeds swapped shirts and ties for anything pink from tops and jumpers to even onesies and sunglasses! To boost our fundraising efforts we included some games throughout the day including a coin hunt and enjoyed some pink sweet treats. Housebuilder Harron Homes has recently donated much needed building materials to Grenoside Scouts and Guides based in Sheffield near Harron’s Wickersley development, The Paddocks. Harron contributed an assortment of materials from timber to loft and floor insulation, as well as gas and electric meter boxes which will all aid in the group’s project of expanding their headquarters.
