    Mayor celebrates start of Rossington development

    The Civic Mayor of Doncaster, Councillor Duncan Anderson, recently attended the official ground-breaking ceremony for De Maulay Manor, our newest development in New Rossington, Doncaster.     Chesterfield housebuilder helps give hope to OPAL school

    We have recently donated 30 pairs of high-quality wellies to the children of Staveley Primary Junior School in Staveley, Chesterfield, close to Harron Homes’ Thorpe Meadows development. Staveley Junior School is part of the Outdoor Play And Learning (OPAL) Primary Programme, which aims to encourage creative outdoor play in schools, leading to increased focus in the classroom and the ability for children to regulate their behaviours. To help celebrate this event we called on the support of Goole Men in Sheds, who created a fantastic Bob the Builder scarecrow to go outside our sales office.     Harron thinks pink for breast cancer

    Last Friday, 20th October 2023, we joined many people throughout the country on Wear it Pink day, raising money for Breast Cancer Now. Colleagues from our head offices in Barlborough and Leeds swapped shirts and ties for anything pink from tops and jumpers to even onesies and sunglasses! To boost our fundraising efforts we included some games throughout the day including a coin hunt and enjoyed some pink sweet treats.     Housebuilder donates materials to Sheffield scout group

    Housebuilder Harron Homes has recently donated much needed building materials to Grenoside Scouts and Guides based in Sheffield near Harron’s Wickersley development, The Paddocks. Harron contributed an assortment of materials from timber to loft and floor insulation, as well as gas and electric meter boxes which will all aid in the group’s project of expanding their headquarters.     Sweet colleagues raise more money for Macmillan

    Last week, we once again supported Macmillan in its quest to create the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Colleagues at our Barlborough and Morley offices brought their best cakes to work and together we raised a total of £189.61. This amount is enough to pay for a person affected by cancer to attend a health and wellbeing event, providing them with skills to improve the management of these areas in their lives, and run Macmillan’s Online Community forum for over 3 hours. 98% of Macmillan’s funding comes directly from donations so all contributions make a massive difference to the charity.
