“While both homes are a similar specification – containing four bedrooms, an ensuite, kitchen-dining area, utility room, and garage, subtle architectural choices make the homes slightly more suitable for families in different stages of life.
“The Nidderdale is ideal for those growing families and we had especially great fun dressing the children’s bedrooms. We love creating spaces for children to express their imagination and think the space themed room does that perfectly with the chalkboard walls. The rest of the house has an executive feel, using matt black, ivory colours and gold accents to create a modern yet inviting backdrop. With such neutral colours, we used plenty of texture to provide dimension and bring to life the interior design with a modern twist on trending features, including the bespoke diagonal panelling in the dining area. The variety of light fittings also adds interest; we particularly love the chandelier in the bedroom, it really adds to the boutique feel of the room.
“The Salcombe is the slightly larger home, with an additional room downstairs. This makes it perfect for families with older kids who want that extra space, allowing them to do their own thing without being shut away in their bedrooms upstairs, so we’ve dressed it as a less formal living room. Alternatively it makes an excellent office space, an essential for many people these days!
“We played with warm neutral colours and patterns in the Salcombe – the contemporary take on damask wallpaper in the WC is a favourite! We’d encourage people to play around with wallpaper placement; in the family room a strip of cloudy grey paper adds a touch of moodiness without making the room too dark, while a singular strip in the living room forms the perfect backdrop for a statement, feature wall.
“Bespoke elements always make a home feel luxe, and splashing out on something, whether that’s floor-to-ceiling curtains or a bespoke headboard, goes a long way to elevating the feel of the whole house. There are so many fabulous elements in each house for visitors to pick up on, we’d love for these showhomes to inspire other interiors!”
