Harron Homes is celebrating three of its site managers who have won the National House Building Council (NHBC) 2023 Pride in the Job awards.

27 year-old Zak Green based The Hawthornes in Carlton, 43 year-old Paul Armes, who works at The Brambles in Retford, Nottinghamshire, and 41 year-old David Armitage, who works at Harron’s recently launched Simpson Park development in Doncaster were all recognised for their hard work by the NHBC, the UK’s leading home warranty and insurance provider.

Its flagship Pride in the Job award is one of the most highly regarded competitions in the industry, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.

Zak’s hard work has been consistently recognised since he started his construction career as an apprentice bricklayer in 2012 and his efforts have been celebrated by Harron since he joined the Kings Croft team in Killinghall in 2020. This is the second year in a row Zak has been awarded by the NHBC, having won a Pride in the Job award for his work at The Hawthornes in 2022.

Zak commented, “I’m over the moon to receive this award! In every job I’ve made it my mission to go above and beyond to create homes of the best quality and that effort is definitely paying off. Of course I couldn’t do it without the brilliant team around me, I’m grateful for their hard work and support every day.”

Paul’s journey with Harron as an assistant site manager five years ago, and was promoted to site manager just a year later. He’s worked his way up the construction industry, starting with a Bricklaying NVQ and an HNC in construction before going on to pursue a management role.

Paul said “I’m so thankful for this award. We’ve built a good team on site and every one helps to maintain the high standards we have set. I wouldn’t have achieved this without my team at The Brambles.”

David joined Harron 18 months ago, after almost a decade of managing sites at other housebuilders. He started his construction career early in life, working with his dad on electrical installations and climbing the career ladder from there.

David said “I’m absolutely delighted to receive this award, and hope to earn more! So much heart and soul has gone into this job and to be recognised by the NHBC feels incredible.”

Ian Pendlebury, Group Managing Director said, “We’re incredibly proud of Zak, Paul, and David. This marks the third year in a row that the NHBC has awarded Harron site managers, and it’s fantastic that all the hard work and effort put in by our site teams across the country has been recognised and rewarded with a highly contested and prestigious Pride in the Job award.”
