We are celebrating four of our site managers who have won the National House Building Council (NHBC) 2024 Pride in the Job awards.

28 year-old Zak Green, based at Nevison’s Fold in Barnsley 44 year-old Paul Armes, who works at The Brambles in Retford, Nottinghamshire 53 year-old Richard Hutchinson who works at Shipley Lakeside in Heanor and 47 year-old Paul Jezusek who works at our recently launched De Maulay Manor development in New Rossington were all recognised for their hard work by the NHBC, the UK’s leading home warranty and insurance provider.

Its flagship Pride in the Job award is one of the most highly regarded competitions in the industry, showcasing best practice and rewarding excellence.

Zak’s hard work has been consistently recognised since he started his construction career as an apprentice bricklayer in 2012 and his efforts have been celebrated by Harron since he joined our Kings Croft team in Killinghall in 2020. This is the third year in a row Zak has been awarded by the NHBC, and in 2023 he was awarded Yorkshire’s Rising Star at the Yorkshire Residential Real Estate Awards.

Zak commented, “I am beyond thrilled to receive this award once again! Throughout my career I’ve done my best to exceed expectations and deliver top-quality homes, and it is incredibly rewarding to see that dedication recognised for the third time by such a prestigious organisation.”

Paul’s journey with Harron began as an assistant site manager five years ago, and he was promoted to site manager just a year later. He’s worked his way up the construction industry, starting with a Bricklaying NVQ and an HNC in construction before going on to pursue a management role. This is the second year he has won an NHBC award.

Paul said “I’m thrilled to be honoured with this award again! It’s incredibly rewarding to see my hard work pay off. Recognition from the NHBC is a testament to the passion and commitment we bring to our work every day. The high standards we’ve achieved are a result of a true team effort, and I’m grateful to everyone at The Brambles for their unwavering support.”

Richard joined Harron nearly two years ago, after over 20 years of working in the house building industry and managing sites at other housebuilders. Previously in the military and being deployed across the UK and overseas, Richard wanted to work closer to home and look after his family which made local construction an appealing area of work to progress into.

Richard said “I’m on cloud nine as I had talked myself out of winning! Harron Homes is such a great place to work, my experience has been second to none. I’ve been surrounded by the best people here who have supported me from day one. I’m proud to create high quality homes and see customers happy with their purchases, so to be recognised by the NHBC feels incredible.”

Paul Jezusek began his 30-year-long journey in the construction industry right after leaving school, starting out as an apprentice joiner and progressing from there to work on new builds and then briefly on refurbishment projects. He joined Harron Homes five years ago as an assistant site manager and was promoted to site manager two and a half years later, a role in which he has since excelled.

Paul said, “I’m absolutely delighted to be honoured with such a great award. It’s probably the proudest moment of my career so far and I feel so grateful to see that my hard work has paid off.

“I feel incredibly lucky to work for a company that has always treated me like a part of a very large family. This recognition from the NHBC is a testament to the passion and commitment we bring to our work every day, and I’m grateful to everyone at De Maulay Manor for their support.”
