A leading housebuilder has made a donation to a primary school in Forest Town to help educate its students on the importance of site safety, and inspire a new generation of construction professionals.
Harron Homes gave £500 to Holly Primary School, which is situated close to Forest Reach, the developer’s luxury collection of four-bedroom homes on the southern edge of the Nottinghamshire village.
The money will be used to develop an outdoor construction area, which will complement teaching on the built environment and the necessity to adhere with health and safety measures at all times.
It will also enable pupils to bring their experiences of practical learning into more theoretical, classroom-based lessons.
In addition to the monetary donation, Harron presented the school with a consignment of safety helmets for pupils to wear while using the new construction area.
Lorret Cook, Sales Executive at Forest Reach, handed over both a cheque and the safety helmets to representatives of the school’s staff, as well as a small group of students, during a special ceremony.
Duncan White, HHeadteacher at Holly Primary School said, “The children were so excited to receive the hard hats. They have really helped bring our new construction area to life.
