On the edge of the Yorkshire Dales, close to Harron’s Kings Croft development, Nidderdale Llamas is a wonderful retreat from the chaos of daily life.
Spending time with llamas has been shown to assist mental health, a cause Nidderdale Llamas champion alongside MIND-UK. In an exclusive video for Harron Homes, found on our social media pages, owner Suzanne Benson explains the benefits of llama trekking and gives a sneak preview of the gorgeous scenery awaiting visitors.
While the farm was closed during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic, virtual treks via Zoom have been an innovative way of sharing the llama love. Physical treks are once again available on an appointment basis to protect the llama’s welfare and prevent them being overworked. The well-being of the animals is a priority, and Harron is donating £200 towards the farms vet bills, especially baby llama Noah who has required lifesaving veterinary treatment.
Suzanne says, “Every llama has its own delightful personality, and we’re glad we get to share some of that virtually! Like many businesses, we’ve had a tough few months, so Harron’s support is greatly appreciated.”
