New family homes, enhanced biodiversity and a skills hub, to help develop the construction workers of the future, are all part of a proposed new development in Mastin Moor unveiled following the purchase of the site by local housebuilder Harron Homes.
Harron Homes North Midlands has purchased 15 acres of land on Bolsover Road from the Devonshire Group to build 143 homes for the first phase of a four phase development in the Derbyshire village.
The development named Low Ridding will be made up of a collection of two, three, four and five bedroom homes, perfect for families looking for a slice of peaceful rural life with all the conveniences of modern living.
As part of its planning application, which was approved earlier this year, Harron has committed to the inclusion of a selection of two and four bedroom affordable homes.
The development will sit amongst 20 hectares of green, open space for the community, with children’s play areas, informal recreation spaces and naturalistic tree planting to increase biodiversity.
The Devonshire Group will also provide a Construction Skills Hub on the site which will become a practical base for construction training and provide work experience for future learners.
Surrounded by peaceful countryside and only a short 12-mile drive from the Peak District there’s plenty to explore in the local area, and with great links to neighbouring towns and cities such as Barlborough, Chesterfield and Sheffield, it’s a great spot for commuters with easy access to the M1.
Work is due to start on the site this month (June), with a marketing suite ready for visitors in November 2024.
