Work is well underway at a major new development of 143 homes from housebuilder Harron Homes, as part of the regeneration of the former Thoresby Colliery near Edwinstowe.
The scheme is part of the wider Thoresby Vale redevelopment project by Harworth Estates, which will see Nottinghamshire’s last deep mine transformed into a residential development. The community element, featuring a business park, a retirement village, new primary school, leisure facilities and a 350 acre country park attracted Harron to the development.
Harron Homes’ 11.84 net acre site forms the first residential phase, and construction work on the homes is well underway. The sales cabin will be open by the end of June, while the showhome is expected by the end of August.
The development will feature a mix of luxurious three, four and five bedroom homes, 11 of which will be affordable properties.
There will be 11 home styles for sale to accommodate a variety of needs, including the Edlingham, a five bedroom detached home with detached double garage, and the four bedroom Settle.
The Edlingham features a spacious living room with French doors leading to the private rear garden, a garden room providing outdoor access, a versatile kitchen-diner, a dining room for more formal occasions, a study, a utility room, and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway. The landing leads to five well-proportioned bedrooms, two of which have en-suites as well as a dressing area in the master bedroom, and a contemporary family bathroom.
Meanwhile, the Settle features a light and airy living room, a dual-aspect kitchen-diner with French doors leading to the private rear garden, a handy utility room, and a guest cloakroom off the entrance hallway.
Upstairs is home to four good-sized bedrooms, including the luxurious en-suite master bedroom, which comes complete with its own dressing area, and a stylish family bathroom.
Harron carefully handpicks the sites of their newest developments to guarantee a high quality of living. Their sites are designed to cater to as many residents needs as possible through consideration of multiple factors, including an excellent location. Thoresby Vale is situated amongst some of the region’s most popular woodlands and forests, allowing residents to immerse themselves in nature while still easily accessing city life with Nottingham centre a mere 20 miles away.
John Booth, Managing Director at Harron Homes North Midlands, said: “We are looking forward to providing high quality new homes to the area. Having worked with Harworth Estates previously, we’re certain they share our values, and we are very pleased to work with them in Edwinstowe and to be part of this important redevelopment project”.
